Loan Periods

All books for (except new fiction titles), books on CD, music CDs, Playaways, magazines, language kits and puppets from Kent Public Library’s collection are available for a four-week loan period.  Playaway Views, DVDs, and Blu-rays are available for seven days. Television series and DVD Great Courses are available for a two week loan period.

 

Materials borrowed from other libraries through Request-A-Title may have different loan periods. Check your receipt for due dates or call us at 845-225-8585 if you are not sure. You can also check your library card record through the Mid-Hudson Library System.

Overdue Fees

Fines for books, magazines, language kits, books on CD, Playaways, and puppets are 10 ¢ per day up to a maximum fine of $2.00. Fines for DVDs, Blu-rays, and Playaway Views are 50¢ per day up to $5.00.

Lost or Damaged Items

If one of our items is lost, destroyed, or damaged beyond repair, the patron may choose to either pay the replacement cost of the item or provide the library with a brand new replacement copy. The new copy must be exactly the same in format (hardcover/paperback, abridged/unabridged, etc.).

If a patron pays for an item, only to find the item after payment is made, a refund will be available 30 days from the payment date, and only when the original receipt is presented.

Other libraries in the Mid-Hudson System may have different replacement policies and procedures. Please call to find out before purchasing a replacement item.
