Kanopy   

With Kanopy, Kent Public Library Patrons Will Have Access to more than 30,000 Films, For Free

Kent residents with library cards can access Kanopy and sign up to start streaming films instantly by visiting http://kentlibrary.kanopystreaming.com and logging in with their library card . Films can be streamed from any computer, television, mobile device or platform with good access to the Internet by downloading the Kanopy app for iOS, Android, AppleTV, Chromecast or Roku. (People who  stream a film to a smartphone when they do not have a wireless connection to the Internet could be charged a data fee by their phone company.) 

Kanopy showcases more than 30,000 of the world’s best films, including award-winning documentaries, rare and hard-to-find titles, film festival favorites, indie and classic films, and world cinema with collections from Kino Lorber, Music Box Films, Samuel Goldwyn, The Orchard, The Great Courses, PBS and thousands of independent filmmakers.

Teachers and community organizations have the right to show the Kanopy films to a classroom or group, as long as they do not charge a fee to attend. 

Roku

Roku is a little box that makes it easy to enjoy popular movies, TV shows, music, games and more on your TV by streaming it directly from the Internet. Roku players connect directly to your TV and to your high-speed Internet service via your home network. You select the shows and movies you want to watch, whenever you want them!

DVDs/Blu-rays

The Kent Library has a quickly growing collection of DVDs and Blu-rays. We have also started to add 3D Blu-rays to our collection for our patrons with 3D Blu-ray players and televisions.
